I tutor Italian Grammar, Composition, and Literature
Hello, I am an Italian, who has studied formally in the United States and Italy. I speak English and Italian with native fluency, and have studied Italian literature and grammar for over 10 years. I have a passion for the language and have an extensive background in Italian poetry and prose that spans the Big Three of modern Italian narration: Dante, Petrarca and Boccaccio. I have a master's in 20th Century Italian Literature from Middlebury College and a B.A in Italian and Philosophy from Q...

Angelo is a great tutor and was a great help to me. I had a base of the language and he was able to really help. Very patient. You won't be disappointed!

Angelo takes the time to figure out what you are trying to accomplish. For example, I wanted to know "tourist Italian". He has helped me with that and also adds his personal experiences when I ask about certain aspects of Italian life and culture.

I hired Angelo in early May of 2014 and he has been a wonderful addition to my daughter's pursuit of the Italian language. She has been in Italian immersion since kindergarten but as the program ends in 5th grade, I wanted to see what her skills were before she enters 6th grade this fall (as I myself do not speak Italian). The program will not continue as immersion in 6th grade, it will focus more on grammar and vocabulary. Through all of this, conversation has been the the laggard. Most people wonder why after so many years my daughter doesn't simply look at them and begin speaking Italian. But Angelo assured me that the immersion did its job and laid a good foundation for the next step and that conversation comes quite a bit later. It's been an unusual program also in that although my daughter is in a public school, she has had the same teacher for three years. She's not exactly comfortable listening to anyone other than her teacher speak to her in Italian. She even seems shy when it comes to speaking the language herself outside of her classroom. After just a couple of sessions, you can see that my daughter is already very comfortable with Angelo. She is actually getting less shy about speaking the language and getting more and more confident about it. I know it's been fun for her too and she has come to look forward to his sessions! Angelo is always prompt, communicative, respectful, and amiable. I'm very happy with my choice of Angelo and would definitely recommend him! I'm also hoping to hire him for next year's school year.

Angelo is knowledgeable and professional. His lessons are well structured and thorough. The time with him seems to fly by and leave me looking forward to our next meeting. And I should add that he is very personable as well. It is a pleasure to recommend him very highly. He has certainly advanced my Italian language skills.

Angelo is a great tutor! My son has improved tremendously in Italian 2. He is a sophomore in High School and he was struggling before Angelo started tutoring him twice a week. Now, my son is confident, and enjoys speaking, reading and comprehending the Italian language! For as long as my son is taking Italian in High School, Angelo will continue to be my son's tutor! Thanks Angelo!!!
